temp_img   My work as a therapist is based on a collaborative approach with clients who seek answers to the questions they face. My goal is to help you on your journey toward finding those answers. For you, this process will involve a reduction in stress and an increase in coping skills. I am particularly interested in our assumptions, beliefs and reactions to events in our lives with an aim of unpacking emotions and behaviors associated.

temp_img     Areas of specialization: Individuals, Relationships, Couples & Families, Anxiety & Depression, Grief, Post-traumatic stress disorder, Abuse in relationships, Anger management

I believe in letting my clients pace the sessions, yet I am direct and push when I feel a client is ready. I work with the past only when I think it is beneficial to help connect clients with the present, again when they are ready at their pace. I don't dive into trauma; rather I work with it lightly, connecting clients to their strengths while they are processing their pain. My personal style is direct and honest and respectful.

I provide counseling and therapy services to individuals aged 18 and over who are experiencing emotional or mental health issues or problems in living. All of us, along a continuum, experience obstacles and challenges on our life journey.  I am passionate about promoting counseling and therapy as a normal and responsible act of self-care.  As we increase our awareness of who we are, we become free to behave more compassionately and responsibly towards ourselves and others.

Some people have experienced trauma as a result of recent past events and helping people resolve trauma is an area of special interest.  I am interested in helping people heal as gently and as quickly as possible.

In addition to my private counseling practice, I work as a mental health and addictions therapist for Vancouver Coastal Health in Whistler.  Hiking, yoga, arts and cultural events and spending time with friends help to bring balance to my life.  I also place a high value on ever-expanding my own self-awareness, growth and development.
