Community Partners

Community Partners are local organizations, groups and businesses that help WCSS with fund-raising events, materials, space or actually donate time volunteering.

They also help us identify community needs and work towards filling those needs.

Helps by donating food and drinks to our fund-raising events during the year! This last year Nesters donated $6,547.05 to the Food Bank, supported the family dinner and helped every time they were asked...

The Whistler Library provides both space and leadership for the Parent-Infant Drop In program.

Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation works with our Youth Outreach Team and Peer Educators to identify and provide resources for teens with depression.

Rotary Millennium is a wonderful supporter, they host the pancake breakfast for Welcome Week. Rotary Whistler donates money once a month to the food bank. In 2009 they donated $598.09 to the Food Bank!

Vancouver Coastal Health works closely with WCSS to help identify needs in the community and help fill those needs.

The village i-host program makes referrals to our programs, volunteers to help at events like Welcome Week, and collects food for the food bank.

Provides the land for the Food Bank and is a constant supporter in collecting for it as well!

The House Advisors Program at Whistler Blackcomb staff housing volunteers their time and efforts to help us during Welcome Week, and all year works closely with our Youth Outreach team to ensure the needs of young seasonal workers are being met in the resort!

The Whistler 2020 focus groups directly impact our growth and help WCSS identify community needs.  They work with us to ensure that we are growing towards social sustainability in the community!

M.A.C. The Mature Action Committee in Whistler works with WCSS to try and identify the needs of a growing seniors segment in our population, and is active in helping in program design for this age group.

SHAW works with WCSS in a variety of ways. The Food Bank benefited from their 2011 campaign 'Together is Amazing'. SHAW also produces stories about WCSS programs and services which is a valuable way for the community to learn about what kind of help is available.

Starbucks coffee donates their day old breads, muffins and pastries to the food bank all year!

The Canadian Home builders Association, Sea-to-Sky has partnered with us to get the Re-Build-It Centre built, and has agreed to make donations to the store.

Tourism Whistler works with us to produce Whistler Welcome Week!

temp_imgThe Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre showcases their dancers at our Welcome Week Dinner, and provided home made bannock for the Rent-It-Right Seminar during Welcome Week.  Thank you!

LUNA-fresh nightlife culture is the 2008-09 recipient of the Community Grants Program and partners with WCSS during Welcome Week to offer 'Moist, The Pool Party hosted by LUNA.

Communities That Care- this partnership helps address family issues in our community. The six specific problems CTC addresses are: substance abuse, delinquency, teenage pregnancy, academic difficulty, violence, and depression/anxiety.  We support their programs Parenting Wisely, Strengthening Families and The Community Trials Intervention Program.  For more information see www.ctcsquamish.com
