The Commercial Greenhouse Project would grow organic vegetables to sell in the Whistler market, with proceeds going to support social sustainability in Whistler through WCSS programs and services.
TheWCSS Board of Directors has decided not to proceed with this ambitious project, however, funding does exist to help Whistler 2020 design a safe food strategy for the community. With thanks to project champion Dr. Stephen Milstein, the financial risks involved in an experimental program of this type were felt to be too large for a medium sized non-profit to try and tackle. Visionaries like Dr. Milstein work tirelessly to make their vision of a better community with a better future come true. We thank him for his time and energy on this project!
