Anne has been a member of the Whistler community since 1982. Newly retired from her head nurse profession at the Whistler Health Care Centre Anne will continue working as an emergency nurse. She has 2 daughters that grew up in Whistler. Anne was on the library board for 15 years, 12 of those as Chairperson. Anne has served on a number of other volunteer committess including the parent advisory council, citizen of the year committee, social sustainability speaker series which brought Stephen Lewis to Whistler and the Whistler Health Care Foundation Indulge fundraising committee. Anne is a strong believer in giving back to the community and says that some of her most rewarding times have been while volunteering.
Karen spent 9 years working in the Hospitality/Hotel industry in Vancouver. After completing her certificate in HR management she moved to Whistler to fulfill her dream. She was hired as the Whistler Blackcomb Recruiting Manager and 13.5 years later is still creating memories for people. “The Fall is filled with so much excitement, energy and anticipation. There isn’t a better feeling that to see the looks on people’s faces when they first arrive to Whistler and see what this beautiful community has to offer”! In 2000, she joined Mountain Health Community Alternatives and continued on with WCSS once the two merged because she believes strongly about the wonderful services WCSS supports. When not working, Karen resides in Pemberton with her family and enjoying life to it’s fullest!!!
Colleen Fraser is informed by almost three decades of experience in the health and healing industry. She teaches various body oriented approaches including yoga, herbal medicine, meditation, and nutrition. She works primarily with massage practitioners and estheticians who look to enhance their skill level and she also teaches introductory workshops and cooking classes to the public. Currently, Colleen lives with her family in Whistler, where they enjoy the active lifestyle of the mountains. She has her full time clinical massage and ayuvreda practice, offers personal panchakarma programs, writes and teaches. Colleen developed Whistler Healing Arts and supports organizations which promote community education. She also supports research on natural health care and Ayurveda,; N.A.M.A.; the Ayurvedic Institute; Light on Ayurveda Journal, MTA of BC and the CMT of BC.
Grant Lamont was born in Montreal but convinced his parents to move to North Vancouver at the age of two. since arriving, it has been an incredible ride. Grand skied Whistler for the first time in Grade 4 and has been drawn back for over 1500 ski days since. Grant is married to Caroline, who served three years on council previously, and has two children, Mahon and Caleigh, and an active and affectionate black lab, Otter.
Grant has worked tirelessly to promote and create one of the finest mountain bike communities on the planet with many other incredible members of WORCA and is bringing his grassroots sensibilities to the table.
